The five questions we ask every photographer

What the website says instead of a number:

“packages start at”

  1. Are you available on the date?
  2. What do your packages cost, and what's included in each?
  3. How many hours does that cover, and what's the overtime rate?
  4. Is a second shooter included or extra?
  5. Is there a travel fee to the venue, and are edited images and rights included?

Asked in one email, in plain words, with your date and your numbers in it. Then chased -- most of the real numbers come from the second or third try, not the first.
